Vegetable tanned leather uses natural tannins from tree bark and plants, producing a firmer, longer-lasting belt that ages beautifully. Chrome tanning uses chromium salts — it is faster and cheaper but produces a softer belt that does not develop patina and degrades faster over decades of wear. Fair Impex uses a semi-vegetable tanning process, avoiding toxic chromium chemicals entirely.

How do I find my correct belt size?

Measure the belt you currently wear from the buckle pin to the hole you use most — that measurement is your belt size. If you do not own a belt, add 2 inches to your trouser waist size. Fair Impex leather belts are available from size 28 to 60 inches.

A full grain buffalo leather belt cared for with occasional leather conditioner will last 20 to 40 years or more. The semi-vegetable tanning process makes Fair Impex belts significantly more resistant to cracking, splitting, and moisture damage than chrome-tanned or bonded leather alternatives.
